Megan Mullally and Starz

I have never been a big fan of premium channels on TV.  I mean a basic package costs enough.  Then if you want to upgrade, you have to pay a small fortune to get a few channels you want and they throw in a ton of shopping channels and C-SPAN.  Woo hoo, I know I love to sit around and watch politicians yammer on for hours and then go buy a Joan Rivers pin.  So, to have to pay even more for a premium channel was not something I was wanting to do.  Then Megan Mullally joined the cast of the Starz series “Party Down”.  I love all things Megan, but I don’t want a premium channel.  Heck, I very rarely get to watch TV anyway.  My husband is usually watching the History Channel or the six Discovery channels we get, or some other educational channel.  I graduated from college a long time ago, I am done being educated, I want to be entertained.

So, what do I do.  I spend time on the computer.  You can find most shows on the Internet, so why would I want to pay for even more channels.  This is how I felt.  Then Megan started doing press for “Party Down”.  One of the things I love about being a part of “Megans Madams” is everyone shares the videos, articles and pictures that they find about Megan.  This makes it great.  We all share what we find and because of this, there were several video interviews and articles available that Megan did for “Party Down”.  Megan does a great interview.  Even when she has to explain the concept of the show over and over for each interviewer, she always makes it sound like a great show to watch.  Plus, you can tell she is really excited about the show, which in turn makes me excited to watch it.  But, it is on Starz.  I may have mentioned I don’t like premium channels.  I don’t have Starz.  Oh well, it will be on the internet somewhere.

I settle myself in and am watching and enjoying an interview, then Megan says “so everyone needs to order Starz”.  Oh, Megan, I don’t want to order Starz.  I watch another interview, she is fun to watch, she is excited about the show, then “order Starz”.  Ok, I just pretend I don’t hear that part.  Oh, look another interview, cool.  I am really liking these interviews, I love the outfit she is wearing, ok they introduce her and then BAM she leads with “order Starz”.  Oh, man, she knows I haven’t ordered it, now she is starting her interviews with it.  Ok, I am done watching interviews, there is an article about “Party Down”, I will read that instead. Megan says she loves being on “Party Down” she had a great time, oh look now she is talking about “Karen the Musical”.  I am safe.  Oh no, what does the article end with, “there is still time to order Starz”.  Ok, I had had enough.  I ordered Starz.  So, now I have the Starz Network.  Plus, because Megan was pushing it so hard, I talked both my sisters and my nieces, and a few friends into ordering it.  So, my small little town now has several homes with the Starz Network.  Megan is quite the saleswoman.  So, Starz, you need to thank your lucky stars for Megan Mullally.  She single handedly made my little group become Starz watchers.

Now I anxiously await the season of “Party Down”, which I can watch as it is broadcast because–I have Starz.  I have checked out the other programming on Starz.  I should have listened to Megan earlier, this premium channel is pretty good.  There is a lot to watch.  I guess the politicians and Joan Rivers will have to do without me now.

I was having the same problem Jamie; I rarely have time to watch tv now and I didn’t really want to upgrade and pay more for only a few more channels. But I ended up ordering it anyway, all because of Megan. lol And its actually pretty good!
